As upp is not very library sensitive. To help promoting upp, it will be worthwide to look for some installer that could install the whole upp packages together with "theide" into respective operating systems(linux & M$).

e.g. http://www.installjammer.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&am p;am p;Itemid=34

I'm afraid it's not the way. Most linux distros have their own install systems and packages formats.

I still think that "theide" is not very linux-distro sensitive.
Correct me if I am wrong.

I was thinking about something similar, however the problem at the moment is:

- I do not quite like "internet installers" (downloading needed parts)

- Common Win32/MS installer would result in duplicating executables -> longer file to download.

In case u want to keep things smaller, u could alway separate the linux packages from the M$ one. I don't like internet download parts too.

Do look close to installjammer, I think it could be a right choice. Very easy to use.

wget http://superb-east.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/installjam mer/InstallJammer-1.0.2-Linux-x86-Install
chmod 755 InstallJammer-1.0.2-Linux-x86-Install
./InstallJammer-1.0.2-Linux-x86-Install

Speaking about executable linux installer, would not it be easier to simply adapt existing windows infrastructure to Linux too?

It is pretty advanced stuff now, you just click in GUI what you want to produce and it compiles theide.exe, compresses, compiles installation .exe and uploads to sf.net...
